VP2VRX DXpedition Team Announces Operation to British Virgin Islands

A group of young amateur radio operators are heading to the British Virgin Islands this October as the VP2VRX DXpedition. The team will be operating from DXCC Entity #138 from October 23-28, 2025, giving operators a chance to work this Caribbean location during the prime contest time. We're proud to have DX Engineering as our equipment sponsor, making this youth-driven operation possible.

  • • Dates: October 20-22 (NP2R from USVI), October 23-28 (VP2VRX from BVI)
  • • Contest: CQ Worldwide SSB Contest participation

VP2VRX Callsign Assignment Confirmed

Today marks a major milestone for our DXpedition! The British Virgin Islands Telecommunications Regulatory Commission has officially assigned the VP2VRX callsign for our October 2025 operation. This special event station license allows us to operate from October 23-28 during the CQ WW SSB Contest.

VP2VRX is now officially assigned! This callsign will be used exclusively during our British Virgin Islands DXpedition.

License Details:

  • • Valid Dates: October 23-28, 2025
  • • Authorized Bands: All amateur bands excluding WARC
  • • Contest Operation: Approved for CQ WW SSB

Operating License Application Submitted

We have successfully submitted our special event station license application to the BVI Telecommunications Regulatory Commission. The application includes all required documentation for our multi-station operation and contest participation during CQ WW SSB.

Application Includes:

  • • Multi-operator station configuration details
  • • Contest operation authorization request
  • • Technical specifications for all equipment
  • • Operator license documentation

Next Steps: We're now waiting for the BVI Telecommunications Regulatory Commission to process our application and assign our official callsign.
